Ian + Ash | 16th November, 2019
It was one of the most anxious lead ups to a wedding I've ever been a part of, there were fires literally burning everywhere around the East Coast of Australia and one burning across the highway that would stop me getting to the Hunter. I spent a few days in search of another photographer just in case I wouldn't make it and Ash offered so many things to help out. It felt disastrous of me to even mention to her that I might not make it but with the way the earth was burning around us it felt like the best option to be prepared. As soon as the highway reopened we knew everything would go to plan and I arrived to Muswellbrook on the Friday for a quick run through of their day at the beautiful venue Hollydene Estate.
The morning was here and it was a quick walk upstairs of the motel I was staying to join in the morning getting ready. With Jake David on makeup it was a very fun morning as he had everyone in the room laughing. Ivory State doing a magic job on hair, her style was on point. I went to see the guys in their room and like most men, they were chilling around watching TV. It's always fun to walk into a room with the guys, walking out of one room filled with girls spending hours getting ready into the guys who are literally done in 10 minutes.
The ceremony by Peter Bray had everyone laughing, one silly but seriously good celebrant!!
We spent the last hour in the grapevines, popping champagne like a pro (Ian) and playing games until the wind became too intense. We spent the last part in the Barrel Room for some couple shots and soon enough they were being announced as Mr + Mrs Birdsall.
The speeches were mixed emotions of tears and laughter and I'm very thankful for the kind words Ash!
The party started and it was just kicking in when I finished up, with Ash's son on the dance floor busting some amazing moves for a 7 year old!!
I hope these photos bring you guys all the feels of a fabulous day and you can laugh, maybe cry *happy tears* the whole way through them :)
