Where to start with this legendary couple. The fact that they arranged their date around my availability made this day extremely special to me but when we met face to face during their engagement session, I realised just how special this day was for them. Mel had finally found the man of her dreams; someone her daughter could call Dad and it was clear to me the bond between them was unique and honest. We had a lot of laughs that day, including me losing half my leg in the swamp and Alex helping me out…. Extremely embarrassed but we laughed it off and it was a good starting out story 😊
Our second catch up was for my fave food, Japanese while we conversed over their day, it was a hoot, feeling complete excitement for them. I felt such comfort with these two, they allowed me into their life and confided in me. It’s so wonderful to connect with people on that level knowing they trust in you.
Their day started out very unpredictable, no rain in months and a downpour the morning of. Mel was the least bit stressed going ahead with their only outdoor plan to marry at Harrys lookout. I was feeling more anxious than her and that’s a first! I tell you, it was meant to be, it cleared just before the ceremony, and it made their location even more breathtaking, the ocean beautifully blue. Mel and Alex caught eyes and the emotion was real. A lovely ceremony by Julie Ash, such a genuine touch and happy tears in everyone’s eyes, I loved learning more about their connection.
Next we headed to the lighthouse with the bridal party, I think my cheeks were in actual pain following an hour with this group! I’m sure their memories are complete laughter. A gorgeous sun setting, taking in that golden hour glow.
Reception or Party, party hell yeah – delicious cocktails, delicious food. Great speeches and a cracking MC, wow I was laughing out a loud, LOTS! …
Alex + Mel, loved you’re day, thanks for having me and I know these images will bring back all the feels + anything you’re forgetting.
It was a blast and it went way too fast!!
