Luke + Therese This was an engagement party turned surprise wedding.. I will continue to love this idea!! I met with Therese a couple of days out from their wedding and over coffee discussed how she planned the day to go down... she mentioned about rain and I fobbed it off because the weather had been beautiful for weeks, sun shining! The morning of, I woke to one of the biggest downpours, I was so upset for these two.. I knew they had planned a complete outdoors cocktail style party and when I looked out the window it didn’t look like a one off shower, it looked like it was sticking around. I arrived to Luke and Therese’ house to photograph the guys. I realised I wasn’t the only one feeling anxious about the weather, Luke was looking and sounding really nervous and I was crossing everything that like other weddings it would pass... When I got to the venue (Riverview Island) where Therese was getting ready, I walked in and she was all smiles. Extremely excited for the day ahead... brushing the weather off, positive that it would clear and all would go to plan. Then... as I left to photograph their guests arriving the rain literally just stopped. They got married exactly how they planned and we even got in an hour of location shots in, then as we walked back to the reception, the clouds started again... it makes me so happy when this happens. It HAS to be good luck and maybe some angels above!!! I have to mention their celebrant Celia @ Wishbone Ceremonies. Their ceremony.... WOWSERS!!!! I have never been so amazed in all the years of shooting weddings. Therese did mention during our catchup that her celebrant was doing things a little different, she had created a story about them from questions she had asked each of them... I definitely did not know it would be as fantastic as it was. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room, the laughter was infectious and I highly highly recommend her!!! The venue is one of my faves now. The owners are just like your mates, they go above and beyond. I saw Kylie even moving chairs after the ceremony to allow room for group photos and just in general for guests to mingle. The food was sensational and the actual venue is bloody magnificent!!! Another huge recommendation. It was the best day, the rain didn’t bother us in the end and we got some beautiful moody photos for this amazing couple and I loved getting to know them and all their amazing family & friends! Enjoy going back through the day lovers x This is just a couple of hundred of the thousands of photos that I love!!!!!
