Phil + Grace | Point Plomer Campground, NSW

The universe definitely gave me the goods with this wedding.....

Phil + Grace,

Where do I start!!!!!

Your day, done your way was incredibly wonderful.

The fact you got this many family and friends to attend a campground engagement party just got me thinking how bloody awesome you both are to be around…..

When I arrived, I met with Phil, this wasn’t the Phil I met on the Wednesday for the engagement session… no, this was a nervous Phil, one I had not yet seen before. I must say though, what an absolute gentleman… I asked which house Grace was located in getting ready, he could have just pointed me in the direction that was less than 100 metres away, no he literally walked me over to the stairs of where Grace was, it was so lovely of him. Once upstairs, I tried to slip in and avoid eye contact to sneak a few photos of Grace before she knew I had entered but no… Grace as well, so caring and kind “Is that you Mel, oh I thought I noticed you come in” haha – the most accommodating people I think I have ever met.

It was the easiest couple of hours spent photographing them getting ready. Their ceremony was intimate, they wrote their own vows and had readings done by both parents.

There was even a part of the ceremony dedicated to the Shaka with even the grandparents joining in, the best!

To finish the ceremony Phil + Grace planted a eucalyptus tree as this is a favourite location of theirs together and is a symbol of two individuals joining together.

Off they rode on an old school bike Phil purchased for Grace’s birthday, two days previous. Phil dressed it up, with a cushion for Grace and rode them off to the Kombi Keg for a few Frothies .....

After the ceremony, I heard the guys putting a plan together to get out in the surf, no waves but really good wind which saw them Kite Surfing for close to an hour, best hour for me as I sat on the rocks taking it all in, sure looks fun!

The speeches had me in stitches and a few tears were shared. An amazing cake by Barnett’s Bakery. But……. The best part of the day came when we took off up to the headland to do the location photos. Most weddings the brides chose to do the location photos straight after the ceremony but I suggested to Phil + Grace that it’s actually a lot better for them to mingle during the day with everyone around and take off in the last hour of light… also a good idea because everyone’s had a bit more to drink by that time and makes for nice relaxed and crazy fun photos. I could not wait to share these memories with them, I just loved their day, such a fun bridal party and I honestly feel like I wanna party all over again with them……. Bring on the anniversary 😉

It wouldn’t have been the same without Zac from the Kombi Keg.

I only tried one beer but it was unreal – you should definitely look into that if you’re thinking of having an outdoor wedding,

Cheers Zac!

Thanks Phil + Grace for choosing me, you bloody legends – yeeeeww !
